Kentmere is a leader in staff training in Montessori for Dementia and Aging, an innovative approach to dementia care that supports older adults and people living with dementia by creating a prepared environment filled with cues and memory supports where individuals can care for themselves, others and their community.
We strive to develop an environment that treats individuals with respect and dignity and honors their choices so that they may live as independently as possible.
Our team – from our administrators to our housekeeping staff – is trained in Montessori for Dementia and Aging, which supports improving the quality of life for seniors with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia by promoting the principles of dignity, meaningful engagement and independence throughout life. Because these diseases affect not only our residents but their entire family, we offer a variety of supportive services to ease the transition to long-term care.
The Alzheimer’s Association provides crucial assistance and resources to individuals and families affected by the disease. With a vast network of volunteers and professionals, the Association and its Delaware Valley Chapter deliver invaluable support through various free programs, research funding, and advocacy initiatives.
